Rob Lavet Addresses Litigation Risk at NCHELP Spring Convention

PPSV Principal Rob Lavet spoke at the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) Spring Convention on June 8, 2011. Rob addressed the litigation risks NCHELP members face in fulfilling their responsibilities, including employment matters and compliance with Department of Education rules. In addition, members are increasingly subject to litigation based on other consumer laws such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Rob has extensive experience in advising his clients and defending against this litigation, both as former General Counsel at Sallie Mae and currently with Powers Pyles.
