Ron Thomas joined Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville's public policy and government relations practice in 2012 as Counsel. Mr. Thomas focuses his practice on federal and state government contracting and other government relations matters.
Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in issues related to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business. He is proficient in issues before the government and specifically the US Department of Veteran Affairs. Mr. Thomas previously served as President George W. Bush's appointee as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, United States Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2004, he served as second vice chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party and was the vice president of the South Carolina Republican Party Convention. He was the only African-American political director of a state party when he worked for the South Carolina GOP in 2002 and 2003. He is also the former senior advisor to Congresswoman Michele Bachman’s presidential campaign. Admitted to practice in South Carolina, Mr. Thomas received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Mr. Thomas is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and his practice is directly supervised by principals of the firm admitted to the District of Columbia Bar.
