
Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC is pleased to announce that partner Stanley A. Freeman was elected President of the firm and Chair of the Executive Committee, effective April 27, 2007. He succeeds Robert J. Saner, who served the firm in that capacity since 2000. Mr. Saner remains a partner in the firm and will continue his representation of health care clients.
Mr. Freeman, who founded the firm’s thriving education practice in 1994, focuses on federal regulatory matters affecting postsecondary educational institutions, accreditation issues, transactional matters, and other concerns affecting colleges and schools. He represents institutions from all sectors of higher education, investors in higher education, accrediting agencies, and allied educational corporations. He has served on the firm’s Executive Committee since 2000. Mr. Freeman graduated with distinction from the Honors College of the University of Michigan in 1978 and received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1982. He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
